Two separate incidents of fire inflict heavy loss in Rolpa

ROLPA: Two separate incidents of fire in Rolpa district have displaced four families and caused property loss amounting to around two million rupees.

Three private residences at Jugar area of Triveni Rural Municipality-4 were destroyed in the fire which broke out on Sunday night.

According to police, the fire which started from a cowshed of a local Hari Pariyar quickly spread to his residence and the neighbouring houses belonging to Ramesh Pariyar and Nanda Bahadur Pun, inflicting a loss estimated at more than one million rupees. The police with the help of local residents tamed the fire and thus prevented further damages.

In another incident, a fire that engulfed the house belonging to Barmata Pun in Madichaur of Rolpa Municipality-7 destroyed clothing items, commodities and furniture, inflicting a loss amounting to more than one million rupees, informed police. The fire was taken under control by police and local residents before it could spread further.

Rolpa has been witnessing an increasing trend in fire incidents every year due to large number of houses built of straw.
