NUWAKOT: Two trekking routes have come into full operation with necessary preparations for the pilgrims and tourists to visit the Gosainkunda Fair, on the occasion of Janai Purnima, a religious festival of the Hindu.

The two routes — one leading from Sundarijal in Kathmandu and another from Samundratar in Nuwakot — have been well-equipped for the travellers, according to the hotel entrepreneurs.

The trekking route from Sundarijal passes through the pristine landscapes in Chisapani-Kutungsang- Bhanginagoth-Chaharepati-Ghopteveer-Suryakunda from where trekkers have to descend to Gosainkunda.

“The route is well-equipped and properly managed for the trekkers, according to Pemba Lama, Vice Chairman of the Langtang Gosaikunda Helambu Hotel Entrepreneurs Concern Committee.

The pilgrims have already started heading towards their destination along the trekking routes.

It takes two days with rest from Sundarijal to reach Gosainkunda.

The route was in operation without proper management and necessary support system for the past three years .

The most used route leading from Gangate area of Bidur Municipality-5 passes through Kharanitar-Samundratar-Ramati-Gyangphedi-Talukseri-Suryakunda-Gosainkunda.

Hotel Entrepreneurs Concern Committee Secretary Mingma Sherpa said, “Although it takes two days to reach Gosainkunda from Sundarijal, the route from Nuwakot's Samundratar takes only one day. Samundratar locates at the distance of 35 km from Gangate and is accessible by four wheelers.”
