UCPN-Maoist fails to pick leaders to send to govt

KATHMANDU: The standing committee meeting of the UCPN-Maoist has failed to pick leaders to represent the party in the government.

The meeting has been postponed till tomorrow.

Spokesperson of the party, Dinanath Sharma, has said as there were still more standing committee members waiting to put forth their views, the meeting was postponed.

The committee would resume the meet again on Thursday morning.

Some standing committee members spoke for General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara while some for Top Bahadur Rayamajhi to take leadership from party in the government.

The members stressed on making certain criteria for the leaders to be ministers and forming a work operation procedure for the government too.

Spokesperson Sharma added that the meeting on Thursday morning would select the leaders to be ministers in the KP Oli-led government.
