UDMF cadres cut off fingers of man near Indo-Nepal border

BHIRAHAWA: Cadres of the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) cut off fingers of a man near Indo-Nepal border point in Belahiya of Rupandehi on Wednesday.

According to the Area Police Office Belahiya, Krishna Bahadur Chhetri of Bhalwari of the district was critically injured in the attack.

It has been learned that the cadres of the Front took Chhetri under control near an Indian police beat and attacked him.

Police suspect that he might have reached Sunauli to purchase daily commodities.

The incident took place after a clash ensued between the protesters and police personnel at Indo-Nepal border point in Belahiya.

The clash had erupted after the police personnel removed the cadres of the alliance who were staging demonstration at the border point.

Earlier, Sadhbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato had reached the border point to stage a sit-in.
