Vehicular movement resumes along Muglin-Narayangadh road section

CHITWAN: Two-way vehicular movement along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section has resumed from Sunday evening, said Road Division Office Bharatpur.

The highway which was blocked for more than 27 hours have been opened from this evening, District Traffic Police Office Chitwan Inspector Santosh panta said.

He further said that the landslide debris near Muglin, Kalikhola, Chor Khola, Bhalu Khola, Setidovan, Vorle were cleared to resume vehicular movement along the highway.

Landslides triggered by torrential rainfall since Saturday had blocked the highway, Panta shared.

Meanwhile, hundreds of vehicles stranded along the road section have left for their destination across the country.

So far, the torrential rainfall across the nation have wreaked havoc killing more than 49 persons and more than three dozens still missing and property worth million of rupees have been damaged.

PM Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed the concerned authorities to carry out rescue and relief operation and Home Ministry under the Minister Janardhan Sharma has created a central command post to intensify rescue operation.

After the road expansion project along the highway, more than 50 people have lost their lives due to landslide.
