PARASI: Vice President Parmanand Jha has offered Pooja in different religious sites and held onsite visits in Nawalparasi district this morning.

The Vice President offered Pooja in Palhi Bhagawati, Tribenidham and other temples as well as visited Ramgram Stupa, a shrine where Lord Buddha’s relics are placed.

During his visits, Vice President Jha also inquired about the religious and historical sites.

Vice President Jha is scheduled to attend a programme organised to declare Nawalparasi an open defecation free zone at 12 this afternoon in the district headquarters. The district is being declared the open defecation free zone after all six municipalities and 59 VDCs were open defecation free area.

Meanwhile, the security provision has been beefed up in the district after the arrival of the Vice President.

Vice President Jha is scheduled to return to capital from Bhairahawa Airport at 5:30 today itself.
