Writ petition filed demanding parking lot

KATHMANDU: A writ petition has been filed at Supreme Court, demanding proper parking lots in metropolitan cities, sub-metropolitan cities and municipalities.

Advocate Tulasi Simkhada filed the writ petition on Sunday, making defendants to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and Ministry of Physical Infrastructures and Transport Management, among others.

He has demanded proper parking lots in all four metropolises, 13 sub-metropolises and 246 municipalities across the country.

He, in the petition, has argued that although the Vehicle and Transport Act 1992 has the provision of appropriate parking lots, public have been left at the receiving end of its non-implementation.
