DAMAULI: An unidentified gang murdered a youth using a sharp weapon in Damauli, district headquarters of Tanahun, on Saturday night.

Another youth sustained injuries in the incident. According to District Police Office Tanahun SP Krishna Kumar Mahat, Dinesh Thapa, 16, of Byas municipality was murdered with a sharp weapon whereas Regan Thapa, 17, of the locality sustained injuries in the attack.

Regan is undergoing treatment at Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara.

Damauli Hospital referred Thapa to Manipal Hospital, according to SP Mahat. They were attacked from behind. “Around 35 to 36 persons have been arrested on suspicion of their involvement in the attack,” said SP Mahat.
