What is realisation?

Realisation is being fully aware about the fact or truth. It is to know who the “self” is. Knowing the acts of “self” with its impacts on others and “self” is realisation.

Why is it necessary to realise self? When one thinks that everything has been tried and felt, then one looks for self-identity. While trying to discover our self-identity, we gradually start taking into account our actions. Then it triggers the unconditional approach of knowing self. It is that point when realisation can occur about self—the good and bad acts one has committed.

Realisation of the past mistakes makes one not to repeat those. It as a matter of fact makes an individual knowledgeable, and sharing that knowledge with others has a greater impact. When one learns the truth about self, the person finds his/ her true identity, the purpose of  life and the actions that would make him/ her accomplish that.

An individual then starts keeping the personal goal aside and tries to get involved in some noble cause—for the betterment of the community or society. Knowing self can help one to simplify one’s life. This very realisation makes life simple. When one realises the truth, one feels obliged to provide gratitude towards everything and everyone who were part of the realisation. It is then one feels like doing some noble work for the community and society. The unconditional approach makes more sense than conditional approach for everything that one does.

Keeping morality alive at all time is the responsibility of a realised person. What is learned with patience is the biggest asset that human beings possess. Compassion and forgiveness are the only two things that we can give to others, and besides these. What one needs to understand is that there is no such thing as far or near, it is only perception that one has. Improving perception helps one to identify the truth in everything. Through realisation, one understands the true difference between perception and reality.

While perceptions can make life complicated, true realisation of self can change the entire way we look at life. All of us have more in us that we are often forced to believe in and that could be because of our false self-image, which is often created because of our perceptions. Our self-image influences our emotions and behaviours. We need to discover who we truly are. When we understand this, we can fulfil our mission and lead.
