Before two and half years back i also had the same perception against the landlord of the kathmandu valley.i used to be so afraid that i too have to face the same problem. But it was not like what others had made me to thought so.it was more difficult for me to find a room. And its too bad that guys are not accepted by many of the landlords. But my landlord where i am currently living had truely accepted me.from the very beginning,i have not faced any difficulties with my landlord.i have been provided with all sorts of facilities.i.e.water,electricity,newspaper,e.t.c.most of the time he used to come to me and ask me if i have any sorts of difficulties.sometimes at leisure time,he shares his experience,he had faced in life.we sometimes go out for dinner.of course, he also cursed me when i make some mistakes and within few minutes he says.."paribartan babu narisaula uncle le sadai timilai ghali garcha hai."At that time i feel very great and pleased for myself.up to now i have not any complain for him.he is at foreign country with his family since few months and we are looking after the house.i am very much thankful to have such a great landlord.i am missing you uncle.

For the students or tenants who are staying at rents. For them its very difficult to adjust due to increase of their rent.Insufficent facilities and different torture given by the house oweres have to easily digest even though its not fair enough. For shorting out this problem the best thing i have done is part time job.but i am worried about my studies.

We can often see the tenant of our surrounding complaining a lot to their landlord. Some are disappointed by the stiffness of landlord as they tried to control different facilities such as water, space etc. Some are complaining for the frequent increase in rent charge, electricity charge etc. Meanwhile the landlord are also seen complaining their tenant. According to them some tenant dont pay the charge in time. Some keep the place dirty while some tenant bother by making noise. In my opinion all these problems are caused due to lack of socialization between tenant and landlord. The preminent quality that both of them should have is respectful. the tenant should respect the space keeping the house clean peaceful environment.Similarly the landlord should respect tenant's problem.Whenever they need to high the charge they should try to convince the tenant about the reason with respectful communication than creating a trouble to them .Being a tenant for 7 months Ive never had a worst experience yet and hope never have. The only reason that i think is that we respect each other.Overall respect to one another is the most important quality that a landlord and a tenant should have in order to live in a harmony.

Question

Many people are living in Kathmandu as tenants. And these tenants are often complaining about the house owners for charging a high rent and providing few facilities. Meanwhile even the landlords are seen complaining about tenants on different reasons. As a landlord or tenant, what is the worst experience you have had with your tenant or landlord? How did you sort out the problem?
