'Majority of sister wings with CPN-M'

KATHMANDU: Majority of UCPN-Maoist sister wings said they had joined the newly formed CPN-Maoist.

Organising a press conference at the new party’s contact office in Kupondole, the heads of some 19 sister wings declared they have decided to support CPN-Maoist because UCPN-M Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Vice-chairman Baburam Bhattarai had failed to transform themselves and had deviated from the party’s ideology.

Suresh Ale Magar led the Indigenous-Ethnic Regional Federation, Gunaraj Lohani led All Nepal Teachers Organisation, Tilak Pariyar led Nepal National Dalit Liberation Front, Ishwor Chandra Gyawali led Unified All Nepal People’s Cultural Federation, Maheswor Dahal led Revolutionary Journalists Association, Takma KC led Nepal National Professors’ Organisation, Mangal Biswokarma led All Nepal People’s Health Workers Association, Ekraj Bhandari led Society of the Families of Fighters Disappeared by State, Shiva Kattel led National Industries and Commerce Federation and Jayendra Bahadur Chand led Republican Sports Federation, Rukma Lamichhane led Nepal National Employees’ Organization and Jayapuri Gharti Magar led All Nepal Women’s Association (Revolutionary) have lent their whole-hearted support to CPN-Maoist.

Likewise, various ethnic liberation fronts have lent their support to CPN-Maoist. They include Santosh Budha Magar led Magar National Liberation Front, Padam Rai led Kirat National Liberation Front, Bharat Chepang led Chepang National Liberation Front, Chun Bahadur Thami led Thami National Liberation Front and Bartaman Rai led Rai-Danuwar National Liberation Front, Dipendra Kumar Chhantyal led Chhantyal National Liberation Front, Nagendra Dhimal led Dhimal National Liberation Front and Pawan Man Shrestha led Newa National Liberation Front. Raman Shrestha led National Lawyers Council; Bishnu Pukar Shrestha led Campaign for Human Rights and Social Transformation Nepal, Laxman Pant led All India Nepal People’s Rights Forum are also with the CPN-Maoist.

The Vice-chairmen of different sister wings have also supported the new party. They include vice-chairmen of All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (Sharad Rasaili), All Nepal Peasants Federation (Revolutionary) and Nepal National Intellectuals Organisation among others.
