'NEFIN to take up arms'

DHANKUTA: Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities General Secretary Angkaji Sherpa today threatened to launch an armed struggle if their grievances were not addressed in the new constitution.

“First we will launch peaceful agitations, if the government fails to guarantee our rights in the new statue, we will opt for an armed struggle by summoning all our former British Gurkha and Indian Army brothers,” NEFIN general secretary said, whi-le addressing a meet here today. He blamed the three major political parties for dissolving the Constituent Assembly and also held CA spokesperson’s inaction behind the its demise.

Accusing the Unified CPN-M for abetting the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML in their conspiracy against federalism, Sherpa said that senior Janajati leaders were preparing to either abandon their old party or form a new socialist party on the day of the upcoming Indigenous and Janajati Day.
