KATHMANDU: Different sister and youth wings close to various 17 political parties have closed all the academic institutions under the Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) today, demanding that irregularities reported in the CTEVT be stopped.
The Youth Association Nepal, Nepal Students Union ( NSU) and the All Nepal National Free Students Union ( ANNFSU- sixth), among others, have joined the protest.
The CTEVT has been accused of raising arbitrary fees and dispatching question papers for examination outside the Valley before time.
Similarly, removal of those college names which have resemblance to English names, maintaining educational quality and guarantee of scholarship are among those demands put forth by the sister wings.
NSU President Ranjit Karna has warned of intensifying the protests if the demands are not met in time.
Similarly, ANNFSU President Madhav Dhungel said that the closure of CTEVT colleges was a compulsion for ending the irregularities in CTEVT.
