KATHMANDU: Members of the newly-elected Constituent Assembly are to get to an opportunity to hone their constitution-writing skills. They will also learn about their duties and responsibilities. The Legislature-Parliament Secretariat will organise an orientation for the newly-elected members of the constitution-making body. At the orientation, the members will learn about the Constituent Assembly, its committees, the workings of the Legislature-Parliament, and various aspects of the constitution, acts, regulations and directives.
Based on experience of the previous CA, we have prepared a proposal to train the new CA members in an effort to build their capacity, said spokesperson for the Secretariat Mukunda Sharma. He expressed confidence that moves like these will facilitate and expedite the constitution-writing process.
Sharma further said the date for the orientation and other details will be worked out after discussions with office bearers of the parties concerned after the first meeting of the CA.
The secretariat believes that the orientation cum training will make the task of the CA members easy. The orientation will make them familiar with their role and responsibilities. The secretariat is also thinking of organising a similar orientation to mediapersons, who will be reporting and disseminating information about activities of the constitution-making body and the Parliament.
