Dhanusha lawmakers demand Mithila state

JANAKPUR: Following Monday’s explosion that killed four persons during a sit-in demanding separate Mithila state, the demand for Mithila state has become stronger.
Constituent Assembly members representing Dhanusha district, speaking at a meeting of Mithila State Struggle Committee organised by Ganesh Youth Committee, opined that the political parties should accept the identity of Mithila. Satrughna Mahato, a CA member representing CPN-UML opined that the Mithila State Struggle Committee should continue the protest until the declaration of Mithila state.
CA member representing Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic Kaushal Kishor Raya said all 22 CA members of Dhanusha should raise their voice for Mithila state.
Meanwhile, an explosion was heard today in the same area in Janakpur where Monday blast took place. However, Dhanusha SP Purusottam Kandel claimed that the sound of today’s explosion was just a fire-cracker.
