CHARIKOT: Residents of Bigu, Alambu, Chlankhya and Khopachagu VDCs today visited the district headquarter Charikot and urged the officials to provide them with security in their area.

The locals have also urged political parties, local administration, police and the concerned stakeholder to establish an Area Police Office in their area at the earliest.

In response, CDO Ganesh Prasad Bhatttarai said the security committee would hold a meeting and decide about establishing a new Area Police Office.

There is only one police post in Bigu VDC at present, locals said. According to them, police did not take any action against the perpetrators who robbed six nuns including 10 people in Bigu on March 19.

The victims had filed first information report identifying the name of the two

perpetrators.

However, DSP Umeshraj Joshi said Man Bahadur Pakharin aka Rijan (20) of Barabise and Subba Magar (22) have been arrested in connection to the incident. Searching for other culprits is on, he added.
