Gajurel blames Dahal for current crisis

HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE

DANG: CPN-Maoist Vice-chairperson CP Gajurel today came down heavily on Unified CPN-Maoist Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal and held him responsible for reducing the country into a heap of ashes.

Speaking at a press meet organised by the Revolutionary Journalists’ Federation, Dang, Gajurel described Dahal a villain.

He said that it was only after the UCPN-M gave up the revolutionary spirit and surrendered themselves to other forces that they decided to part ways from the mother party and form a new party.

The CPN-Maoist leader went on to say that in the present context no statute can give way out to the country. “So our party has proposed for a political outlet,” he said, adding, “Round-table conference would solve the present political crisis facing the country.”

Gajurel said the only option left for the political parties was consensus. He blamed Dahal and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai for plotting to stay in power as long as possible.

“But at the same time opposition parties are demanding Prime Minister’s resignation to move ahead. They are not in the favour to move even a step ahead before Bhattarai’s resignation,” he said, adding, “In such a context, round-table conference would only give the way out.”
