PATHALAIYA:Nava Jagriti Youth Club is all set to host the fourth Magic Moments Simara Gold Cup here at the Simara Stadium from Tuesday.
In all, 12 teams including 10 ‘A’ Division outfits from Kathmandu are participating in the tournament. “We have completed all preparations of the tournament and looking foward for the kickoff,” said Club secretary Shambhu Singh Thakuri adding the construction of a 1000-seater temporary parapet has been completed.
Defending champions Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club will play fellow ‘A’ Division outfit Three Star Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, New Road Team, Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club, Nepal APF Club, NIBL Friends Club, NMB Machhindra Club, McDowell’s Ranipokhari Corner Team, CMG Club Sankata apart from the last edition finalists Sahara Club of Pokhara and hosts Nava Jagriti Club.
Out of the total estimated budget of Rs 5.6 million, the winners will be richer by 400,000, while the runners-up will pocket Rs 200,000. Also, the best player of the tournament will be awarded with a Laptop, while the highest scorer will receive Rs 15,000. Likewise, best individuals—goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward and coach—will take home Rs 10,000 each.
Meanwhile, the hosts have bolstered their squad by the inclusion of ‘A’ division League players. Dipesh Yonjan Lama has been appointed as their coach.
