DANG: Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara today said UCPN-M without its chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepal without the party was beyond imagination.
Speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of May Day, Mahara said, “At least for some more years, Maoists need Dahal and the country needs the Maoist party.” The senior leader said he was in touch with both Dahal and senior vice-chairman Baidhya. “In my opinion, some leaders of the party may leave but UCPN-M will move ahead.” He said leaders should let go of petty desires to lead a group in the party.
Stating that there were technical and procedural faults in the army integration process he said, “It is not right to say that the PLA surrendered to Nepali Army.”
Remembering agreements reached with the government on management of weapons, Mahara said there was no alternative for the party but to conclude the peace process.
