PARBAT: CPN-UML central Vice-chairman Bidhya Bhandari today said the Nepali Congress could conduct the forthcoming election in the due date. She further pointed that the national consensus government should be formed under the leadership of the NC.
Speaking at a press conference in Kusmabazar organised by the Press Chautari Nepal, Parbat, Bhandari stressed on the need to go for fresh polls to give a way out to the country. “There is no other option rather than seeking elections under the leadership of Nepali Congress,” she said.
Bhandari said protest movements should be held nationwide to bring down the present Maoist-led government. Emphasizing the need for consensus among all political parties, the UML leader said it can be forged provided the UCPN-Maoist wants to go to the fresh election. However, she said she was confident that the Maoist government will not conduct election on the due date.
Coming down heavily on the government, she said, “The present government is surviving because of the support of the Madhesi parties,” adding, “Street protests should be launched against of the authoritarian government.”
