HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE

SINDHULIMADHI: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa today said there was no possibility of monarchy returning in the country, even though his party would want so to be.

Speaking with the reporters in Sindhuli, Thapa said the new constitution should be inclusive.

He made it clear that his party will continue to bat for democracy with the king even if a republican constitution is promulgated. “Major political parties have been pushing the country towards crisis,” said Thapa. “RPP-N, however, will always wish for democracy with king in the country.”

“The agreement among the parties regarding army integration was positive, he said, adding that doubts still persist as the Baidhya faction of the Unified CPN-Maoist were still on a warpath. Stating that the constitution with federalism will not be acceptable to his party, Thapa said, “My party will always take initiative to lead the country in the path of development.”
