BHAKTAPUR: Thames International College defeated DAV College by one run to enter the final of the Thames Inter-college Twenty20 Cricket Tournament here today.

Batting first, Thames scored 110-8 in 20 overs before restricting DAV to 109 runs with one ball to spare. Eraj Shrestha was the top scorer for Thames with 27 off 36 balls, while Prakash Ojha scored a quickfire 25 off 21 balls hitting four boundaries. Subash Shrestha (12 not out) and Bibhav Raj Joshi also contributed in double figures for the hosts.

Avinash Giri was the pick of the DAV College with 3-18, while Prakash Thapa and Rahil Bansal took one each. In reply, four DAV batsmen scored in double figures but none of them succeeded in converting their starts into a match-winning knock.

Manu Subedi scored 19 off 21 balls, while Rabindra Singh contributed 21-ball 18. Santosh Dhami made 17 and Prakash Thapa added 16. Man-of-the-match Prakash Ojha of Thames claimed 5-11. Eraj Shrestha and Ashishman Singh also took one wicket each.

Meanwhile, the second semi-final match between Kathford and Universal College was postponed for Saturday due to rain.
