Three killed in separate accidents in Capital

KATHMANDU: Three persons were killed in separate road accidents in the Capital yesterday night, Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office reported.

A speeding microbus (Ba 1 Ja 6710) mowed down Bishnu Prasad Belbase (45) of Arghakhachi, a biker, as the motorcycle (Ba 28 Pa 8183) he was riding on collided head-on with another motorcycle (Ba 48 Pa 3884) at Sano Bharyang at around 8:15 pm and he fell off the bike.

Rajesh Balami (26) of Bohoratar, the rider of another motorcycle, was also injured due to impact of the collision.

Police said he sustained head injury and is undergoing treatment in Janamaitri Hospital, Balaju. Balami is said to be out of danger.

The microbus driver is at large. Police have impounded the bikes and microbus for further investigation.

In a separate road accident, Narendra Lama (29) of Kavre succumbed to serious injury while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital at around 9:00 pm. He sustained injuries after he fell off the door of a running bus (Ba 1 Kha 6027) in front of the hospital in the morning. Police have arrested the bus driver.

In Balaju, an unidentified man in his 50s died after a private car hit him at around 10:00 pm. Doctors at Bir Hospital pronounced him dead one hour after the incident. Police said a suspect was arrested from Swoyambhu area.
