2nd ODI goes to last over as NZ beats India by 6 runs

NEW DELHI: India fell short in the last over as New Zealand won the second one-day international on Thursday by six runs to level the five-match series at 1-1.

Chasing 243 to win, India was bowled out for 236 in 49.3 overs with Kedar Jadhav scoring 41, including two fours and two sixes. MS Dhoni struck 39.

Earlier, Kane Williamson scored his eighth ODI century as New Zealand finished on 242-9. Williamson hit 118 runs off 128 balls, with 14 fours and a six, after the Black Caps had been put into bat.

Left-arm spinner Patel claimed Ronchi (6), whose skier was caught by Dhoni.

Bumrah then dismissed Southee and Henry cheaply, as New Zealand lost six wickets for 33 runs in 52 balls.

India won the first ODI by six wickets.

The third ODI is in Mohali on Sunday.
