Subedi rallies to defeat Rawat

Nepal’s Aaditya Subedi, Aryan Giri, Chirag Timilsina, Aarav Hada and Aadit Subedi advanced to the boys’ singles quarter-finals of the Kesha Group ANLTA Asian U-14 Tennis Championship Circuit-I here at the Satdobato Tennis Complex courts today.

In all-Nepal first round matches, Aaditya Subedi came from a set down to defeat Aki Zuben Rawat 3-6, 6-2, 6-4, Aarav Hada outplayed Evyak Joshi 6-0, 6-1 and Aadit Subedi saw off Pranav Manandhar 6-1, 6-0. Similarly, Aryan Giri outplayed Harisharan Baskaran of India 6-2, 6-0 and Chirag Timilsina recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win against Samrit Sharma of India.

Similarly, Sivasamy Ramalingam Nathin Ram of India defeated his teammate Arya Mundhra 6-1, 6-2 and Rushikesh Sunkara of India thrashed Nisan Shrestha of Nepal 6-0, 6-1.

In girls’ singles, Isha Shree Shah registered a 6-3, 6-3 win against Prakriti Shrestha, Sneha Yadav defeated Nimisha Dhakal 6-2, 6-3, Lumu Tso Lama beat Rosani Limbu 6-1, 6-2, Sharvani Shrestha earned a double bagel against Utsha Lama and Saloni Tamang thrashed Aisha Dolker Gurung 6-2, 6-1 in all-Nepal matches. Similarly, Riya Matharoo saw off fellow Indian player Prachi Mantri 6-2, 6-2.

In boys’ doubles quarter-final matches, the pair of Aryan Giri and Aarav Hada defeated Pranav Manandhar and Chirag Timilsina 6-0, 6-2, while the duo of Aadit Subedi and Aaditya Subedi registered a 6-1, 6-1 win against the pair of Evyak Joshi and Aki Zuben Rawat.

Likewise, in all-India match, the pair of Harisharan Baskaran and Sivasamy Ramalingam Nathin Ram saw off Arya Mumndhra and Samprit Sharma 6-4, 3-6(10-7) to advance to the semi-finals.

In girls’ doubles section, the pair of Isha Shree Shah and Sharvani Shrestha defeated the duo of Lumu Tso Lama and Rosani Limbu 6-3, 6-4 to make it to the last four. Similarly, Subhangee Laxmi Shah of Nepal and Prachi Mantri of India defeated Nepal’s Nimisha Dhakal and Aisha Dolker Gurung 6-1, 6-1, while Rayana Shah of Nepal and Riya Matharoo of India beat Nepali pair of Prakriti Shrestha and Sneha Yadav 6-0, 6-3.
