Kathmandu, June 15

Panda Events and Arigato Education Consultancy are jointly organising the AEC Cup Cricket Tournament from June 20-23 here at the Ultimate Indoor Cricket.

A total of 16 teams will take part in the tournament which will be played under knock out format, informed the organisers at a press meet today. “This is a different tournament as it will be played under indoor format. The teams will have to play full 18 overs and the team scoring most runs will win the match” said Event Coordinator and Director of Panda Events Arjun Pandey.

“Each team will have eight players and six will play at a time. A set of two batsmen will play it out for six overs and each dismissal will account for five runs to the batting side,” Pandey added.

The winning team will receive Rs 50,000 along with the trophy, while man-of-the-series will earn

Rs 5,000.

Managing Director of Arigato Education Consultancy Raman Sukla said he was impressed with the concept of indoor cricket and he hoped to include whole of the society in the tournament. “We can organise indoor cricket with limited capital and time. And most importantly we can mobilize a lot of youth for the positive change of the society through such events,” Sukla added.
