Ancelotti promises attacking football at Bayern

MUNICH:  Carlo Ancelotti began his new job as Bayern Munich coach on Monday, promising his side will play attractive, attacking football.

Like his predecessor Pep Guardiola, Ancelotti began by speaking German at the presentation, before switching to Italian or English to answer questions.

Guardiola won three Bundesliga titles in his three seasons but not the Champions League, before deciding not to extend his contract.

Ancelotti will be expected to bring that trophy, having won the Champions League twice with AC Milan and once with Real Madrid.

The Italian said Bayern was not the only club seeking to win the Champions League but that he was hoping for a "fantastic season."

Ancelloti and club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge both said there were no plans for any new signings, but did not rule them out.
