Janakpur, April 24

Nepal  APF Club and Sonnet Cricket Club won their Group B matches of the  Deepak Gupta Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament here at the Rangabhumi  grounds today.

APF defeated Birat Cricket Club by six wickets, while Sonnet outplayed Tribhuvan Army Club by four runs.

In the day’s second match, Birat posted 117-9 in 20 overs before APF raced to 121-4 in 18 overs.

Sandeep Jora scored an unbeaten 56 off 44  balls with the help of two boundaries and four sixes to help APF record the  convincing win. Earlier, Birat posted the fighting total after Meenas Thapa scored 31-ball 29  that included four boundaries.

In another match which was reduced to 15-over-a-side, Sonnet scored 103-7 before restricting TAC to 99-7. Sonnet’s  Shivam Dixit hit four boundaries  and two sixes to score a quick fire 25-ball 43.

For TAC, Naresh Budhayer scored 30 off 31 balls that included a  boundary and two sixes, while Sagar Pun hit 13-ball 23 with the help of three boundaries and a six.
