BARA: Bara Cricket Club defeated Sarlahi Cricket Club by nine runs in the inaugural match of the BP Memorial Cup Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament here at Kalaiya Shideswar Cricket Ground on Wednesday.

Opting to bat first, Bara were bowled out for 101 in allotted 20 overs. Kriti Sen top scored for Bara with 18 off 11 cracking three boundaries and Prabha added 10-ball 14 hitting two fours. Mamta Chaulagai (11) and Anupa Pudasaini (10) also scored in double figures. Sarlahi’s Mamata Chaudhary claimed two wickets. In reply, Sarlahi managed 91 runs in 18.3 overs despite the player-of-the-match Mamata Chaudhary hitting 30 off 38 balls with the help of two boundaries. Anuradha Chaudhary contributed 14 off 12 balls. Santosh Chaudhary hit run-a-ball 11. Bara’s Sita Shrestha claimed three wickets and Kriti Sen picked up two wickets.
