KATHMANDU: A five-member Nepali boxing team on Thursday left for Thailand to participate in the Asian Youth Boxing Championship to be held in Bangkok from July 1-8.

Nima Gyaljen Lama will compete in 52kg weight category, while Surendra Rai is scheduled to fight in 56kg and Bishal Shrestha will take part in 75kg section.

Coaches Deepak Maharjan and Dambar Bahadur Limbu accompanied the boxers to Bangkok.

National Sports Council Member Arjun Bahadur KC and Nepal Boxing Association President Ram Awale bade farewell to the team on Thursday.
