Coca-Cola Cup kicks off today in Lalitpur

Kathmandu, July 17

The All Nepal Football Association is organising the Coca-Cola National Inter-school Football Tournament, under the sponsorship of Bottlers Nepal Limited, here from Tuesday.

The tournament will be played in three phases — district, regional and central. The district level competitions will be held among the schools of 44 districts affiliated to ANFA. The district level events kicked off on July 9 in other districts.

The regional level competitions will be organised at Jhapa of Eastern Region, Bhaktapur and Rautahat of Central Region, Kaski of Western Region and Banke for Mid-west and Far-west regions. The finals will be played in Kathmandu.

After the regional events, four teams from Lalitpur and Kathmandu will get direct entry for the finals, while three teams from Jhapa, one each from Bhaktapur and Hetauda as well as two teams each from Kaski and Banke will also travel to Kathmandu for the finals to be played under the league-cum-knock out format.

The winners and runners-up in the both the boys and girls categories will earn Rs 300,000 and Rs 100,000 respectively, while teams finishing third will get Rs 50,000 each. The best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and forward will also awarded with Rs 5,000 apiece.
