CPAN slams NSC

KATHMANDU: Cricket Players Association Nepal (CPAN) slammed the National Sports Council for its weak negotiations with the organisers of the Asian Premier League.

“We also understand that National Sports Council is associated with the event and given its approval. We are sorry to note that it did not push forward the interest of local players and overall cricket development in front of the organiser,” said CPAN GeneralSecretary Paras Khadka in a release.

CPAN was also concerned about preparation camp of the U-19 players. “The APL will also affect Nepali U-19 cricket team’s preparation for the ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifiers. Our U-19 team has started its close camp for U-19 World Cup Qualifier, and with this event coming in the way, there seems our U-19 team will not have ground for practice for 15 days. This will definitely affect in the preparation of most important event from Nepal’s perspective,” the release added. CPAN also demanded the concerned authorities for the transparent financial details of the event.
