DPL postponed

DHANGADHI: Dhangadhi Cricket Academy has postponed the Sagarmatha Cement Dhangadhi Premier League after the dates clashed with Nepali national cricket team’s participation in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup.

The tournament was scheduled for March 18 to April 1 at the SSP cricket grounds in Dhangadhi and were forced to postpone the tournament after the Asian Cricket Council announced the Emerging Teams Cup from March 25 to April 3 in Bangladesh.

National teams from Nepal, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Afghanistan will participate in the tournament along with the U-23 teams from four Test-playing nations — India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. According to DCA President Subash Shahi, the DPL will now be organised from April 9-22 at the same venue.

A total of six franchise-based teams will take part in the tournament.
