DPL: Kathmandu Goldens and Team Chauraha Dhangadhi register victories

DHANGADHI: Kathmandu Goldens and Team Chauraha Dhangadhi have secured victories of ongoing DPL played at the Federal Police Unit ground in Dhangadhi, on Monday.

Skipper Sompal Kami played a blinder to propel his team to triumph over CYC Attariya in their second encounter of the tournament. Kami hit a brisk 39 runs off 15 balls with six humongous sixes and three hit to the fence.

Foreign recruit UAE's Rohan Mustafa top scored for Dhangadhi with 40 runs.

After winning a toss, CYC Attariya set a target of 151 runs for victory to Dhangadhi which cantered to victory with loss of seven wickets and four balls to spare.

Attariya's foreign recruit Bipin and Nepal's junior team member Prem Tamang top scored with 28 runs each. Likewise, Dipendra Singh Airee hit 19 runs while skipper Subash Khukarel scored 13 runs in loosing cause.

Lalit Singh Bhandari snared three CYC Attariya wickets while Rohan Mustafa bagged two wickets to restrict CYC Attariya for a formidable total of 151 runs. Skipper Sompal Kami and Sansad Sheikh took a wicket each.

CYC bowlers Suvankar Urab and Dipendra Singh Airee chipped in with two wickets each.

Sompal Kami was declared man of the match for his whirlwind innings.

In today's first fixture of the day, Rupandehi Challengers led by veteran spinner Shakti Gauchan slumped to second consecutive defeats of the tournament.

Rupandehi Challengers faced 63 runs defeat at the hands of Kathmandu Goldens, who have topped the table with four points after two victories.

Kathmandu Goldens led by Nepal's national cricket team's vice-captain Gyanendra Malla posted a challenging total of 186 runs with loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Golden's foreign recruit Sunny Patel, who was adjudged as man of the match, hit a blistering 48 runs off just 19 balls with three sixes and five fours.

Kathmandu Golden's foreign recruit Subodh Bhatti hit 42 runs, Amit Shrestha and Naresh Buda Airee scored 30 runs each while Skipper Malla fetched 20 runs.

Rupandehi's bowlers Bikram Bhushal, Amar Singh Rataula and Sufain Mehmood picked one wicket each.

In reply, Rupandehi skittled to 123 runs in 18. 4 overs capitulating 63 runs victory to Kathmandu Goldens.

Rupandehi Challengers opening batsman Pradeep Singh Airee's measured 57 runs of 41 runs went in vain as other batsmen petered out miserably in pursuit of 187 runs for victory.

Airee hit five sixes and four fours in his blistering innings in loosing cause.

Kathmandu Golden's Rashid Khan was pick of the bowlers with four scalps while spinner Lalit Rajbashi bagged three wickets.
