Dunai Cobra emerge victorious in ‘Dunai Premier League’

DUNAI: The Dunai Cobra has won the title of Dunai Premier League Cricket, defeating District Police Team by 27 runs, in the finals held in Dunai of Dolpa.

Batting first, Dunai Cobra set District Police team the target of 156 runs for the loss of five wickets in alloted 20 overs, however, Police team chasing the target managed just 128 runs, according to the organisers.

Captain of Dunai Cobra Apar Gurung, scored 54 runs in the match becoming the top wicket-keeper and top scorer, also hitting most sixes during the entire league.

The winner team Cobra collected Rs 30,000 in cash while runner-up police team got Rs 10,000.

Altogether, four teams had participated in the fifth edition of the Dunai Premier League Cricket held here.

The tournament was organised aiming at producing better cricketers and uplifting the players’ morale, according to Khitiz, one of the organisers.

He said the sixth edition of the Dunai Premier League Cricket was in the offing.
