Einhaus wins charity golf tournament

Kathmandu, May 28

Vijay Shrestha Einhaus won the title of the ‘We Are All Able” Charity Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, the one-handicap golfer Einhaus accumulated 39 points to win the nett section trophy. He carded five birdies on the first, sixth, seventh, 11th and 17th holes and also bagged the most birdies award. With the win, Einhaus received return tickets to Singapore from Silk Air. SSP Rajendra Shrestha finished second with 34 points.

Tashi Tshiring won the gross section title with 33 points after Einhaus, who also had the best gross score, chose the nett section trophy under one-player-one-trophy rule. Maj Gen (retd) Mahesh Bikram Karki won the seniors section title, while Mayank Dahal was the best among the junior players. Phuntshok N Lama claimed the longest drive and Pemba Sherpa bagged the closest-to-the-pin award.

A total of 66 players took part in the tournament, organised by Ability Development Society of Nepal. The event was supported by Gokarna Golf Club, Laxmi Bank, Pernod Ricard, NIC Asia Bank, Kathmandu Medical College, Sri Investment and Finance Company, Silk Air, Buddha International Travels and Tours, Gorkha Vision Travel and Tours, Megabyte Travels and Tours, and Sumegh Travel and Tours. Meanwhile, Bijay Bahadur Shrestha won the return tickets to Singapore via Silk Air in a lucky draw.  President of ADSoN Rabindra Raj Pandey, Executive Director Nirmala Gyawali and Captain of Gokarna Golf Club Joseph Nathan handed over the prizes to winners.
