eSewa National Hockey Championship being held

KATHMANDU: The first eSewa National Hockey Championship is being held in Janakpur. The championship started on March 20 and will conclude on March 24.

Janakpur sub-metropolitan city Mayor Lal Kishor Sah inaugurated the tournament on March 20. Six teams are participating in the championship, including five teams from five former development regions and a team from Nepal Army.

National Hockey Federation office bearers, representatives of local security forces and administrative offices were present at the inaugural event.

The winning team will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 100,000 while the runner up team will receive Rs 50,000.  Player of the tournament will receive Rs 10,000 and a scholarship worth Rs 150,000, vice president of Nepal Hockey Federation, Manish Jha informed.

The competition will be held including teams representing all provinces from the next time.
