Hasandaha advance

MORANG: Hasandaha Cricket Club advanced to the semi-finals of the seventh Birendra Challenge Cup Cricket Tournament here at Pathari grounds on Saturday.

In the quarter-final match, Hasandaha defeated Dhaijan Cricket Club of Jhapa by seven wickets.

Put into bat first, Dhaijan were bowled out for 96 runs in 19.1 overs before Hasandaha reached the target in 13.5 overs with the loss of three wickets.

Ganesh Mahato top scored for Hasandaha with an unbeaten 58 runs and that also earned him the man-of-the-match award.

Dhaijan’s Ashok Subba, Aryan Yadav and Ashok Chaudhary claimed one wicket each.

Earlier, Bikash Karki scored 26 runs and Ashok Subba added 17 runs for Dhaijan. Hasandaha’s Laxman Jha and Ganesh Mahato claimed three wickets each.
