Kathmandu, March 2

Himalayan Outdoor Festival Pvt Ltd is set to organise the sixth Himalayan Outdoor Festival at the Kakani International Scout Training Centre in Nuwakot from March 17-19.

The festival will feature cycling, rock climbing and running events, informed Executive President of Himalayan Outdoor Festival Dipesh Ghaley at a press meet today.

Cycling events will have downhill, cross country, cross country eliminator and night uphill challenge, while rock climbing event will feature three sections — bouldering camp, dyno camp and natural rock. Likewise, the running events are divided into 30km, 12km, 5km and night uphill run sections. “The event will a part of fun but the 30km race will be highly competitive one as it is an open event and any athlete can take part,” said Ghaley, who also informed that musical programmes and other fun activities will also be organised to entertain the crowd.

Around 500 participants are expected to take part in the event which has the estimated budget of  Rs 800,000.
