Indian Railway, Nepal APF set PM Cup final date

Defending champions Indian Railway Volleyball Team and Nepal APF Club advanced to the final of the fourth PM Cup Women’s Volleyball Tournament here at the Nepalgunj Stadium covered hall today.

In day’s semi-final matches, Indian Railway defeated Tribhuvan Army Club and APF thrashed Nepal Police Club in straight sets and confirmed their meeting in Wednesday’s final. Indian Railway claimed the first 25-16 but TAC tried to bounced back in the second set and at one stage they were leading 21-19. But Indian Railway dominated the game and took the second set 25-23. The Indian side won the third set comfortably 25-14.

APF also dominated NPC in the first two sets by claiming them 25-13 and 25-7 and the departmental side struggled hard in the third before winning it 25-22. The winners and runners-up of the tournament will get Rs 111,000 and Rs 55,000 respectively, while the team finishing in third place will receive Rs 35,000. The best player, spiker, blocker, setter, defender and server will get gift hampers.
