Mourinho rounds on match officials, aims dig at rival Klopp

MANCHESTER: Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho accused match officials of treating him unfairly and aimed a dig at Liverpool counterpart Juergen Klopp in a show of frustration after his team's 0-0 draw against Hull in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Complaining that "the rules for me are different," Mourinho was aggrieved that Klopp escaped punishment for shouting in the face of the fourth official during Liverpool's 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Tuesday.

On that occasion, Klopp said he immediately apologised to the official, who responded by saying: "No problem, I like your passion."

Mourinho has served two touchline bans this season and had a stadium ban while at Chelsea last season.

"You know clearly that I am different. The rules for me are different," Mourinho said. "I am different in everything, I watch my team play in a hotel, I was forbidden to go to the stadium, my assistant had a six-match stadium ban and he didn't touch anyone.

"Yesterday one fourth official told a manager, 'I enjoy very much your passion, so do what you want to do.' Today I was told, 'Sit down or I have to send you to the stands.' So everything is different for me."

Mourinho was clearly irritated after the stalemate against Hull, with a third straight draw leaving sixth-place United four points off the Champions League qualification positions.

He abruptly cut short his post-match media interviews, telling the BBC: "Well if you don't know football, you shouldn't be with the microphone in your hand," when asked what infuriated him so much.
