Shukla wins singles title in Circuit-II

Indian players won four gold medals in the ITF Senior Circuit-II Tennis Tournament here at the Pokhara Stadium today.

Kamlesh Sukla won the men’s above-35 category singles title beating teammate Deelip Mohti 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 in the final match, while Punit Kumar Gupta won the above-55 category title with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Manoj Shumsher Rana of Nepal.

Also, the pair of Narayan Murti and Hatindra Panwar beat Binod Kayastha of Nepal and Binod Seth of India 6-1, 6-2 to win the above-45 doubles title.

In the above-35 doubles final, the pair of Kamlesh Shukla and Abhinas Kuwar defeated the duo of Dilip Mohati and Swonadeep Singh 3-6, 6-4, 10-8.

Meanwhile, the above-45 singles final match between Narayan Murthi Kotayala and Binod Seth was postponed for Saturday due to poor light.
