KNP Japan to sponsor women's volleyball tourney

Kathmandu, April 8

Sher Bahadur Khadka Memorial Foundation signed the sponsorship deal with KNP Japan Pvt Ltd for the women's volleyball tournament here today.

Patron of Foundation Gamali Khadka and Nepal Chief of KNP Japan Pvt Ltd Manoj Kumar Mishra signed the memorandum of understanding amidst a ceremony. As per the MoU, KNP Japan will provide the Foundation with Rs 600,000 to conduct the tournament.

In return, KNP Japan will be t he title sponsor of the tournament - the KNP Japan fourth National Women's Volleyball Tournament. KNP Japan had sponsored Rs 500,000 in the third edition and it increased the sponsorship amount by Rs 100,000 this time around. Apart from that, KNP Japan will also spend in promotion of the tournament.

The tournament will feature six teams - three departmental sides Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club and Nepal APF Club along with Shivam New Diamond Academy, Western Region and Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Centre.

Mishra said KNP Japan was honoured to get the chance to be associated with the national sport of Nepal. “We are proud that we got the opportunity to contribute in the development of the national sport,” he said.

Nepal Volleyball Association President Manoranjan Raman Sharma, vice-president Yam Bahadur Gurung, General Secretary Jitendra Bahadur Chand, Marketing Manager of Shivam Cement Keshav Aryal and President of the Foundation Ranjan Khadka were also present on the occasion.

Top three finishers will receive Rs 150,000, Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively, while the player of the series will earn Rs 10,000. Likewise, the seven best individuals will earn Rs 5,000 each.
