Lalita Maharjan and Urmila Lama advanced to the all-Tribhuvan Army Club final in the women’s 46-48kg final of the fourth Nationwide and Novice Boxing Tournament here today.

In the semi-final matches, Maharjan of TAC ‘A’ beat Gita Kumari Thapa from her club’s ‘B’ team, while Lama of TAC ‘B’ defeated Dibaka Bhujel of Udaypur. In 48-51kg weight category, Mala Rai of Nepal APF Club edged past Sita Pathak of TAC ‘B’ and Minu Gurung of TAC ‘A’ knocked out Nita Gosain of Bhaktapur to enter the final.

Similarly, Sanju Lama of APF beat Divya Gurung of Jhapa and Bimala Shrestha of TAC ‘A’ defeated Nisha Tamang of Nepal Police Club in the 51-54kg weight category semi-finals. Likewise, Binita Thapa Magar and Punam Rawal set the all-TAC final in the 60-64kg weight category.

In the men’s section, Tej Bahadur Deuba beat Ashish Tamang of APF ‘A’ to secure a berth in the 49kg weight category final, while Prem Chaudhary of TAC ‘A’ and Sushil Thapa of Naxal made it to the 52kg event final.

Puran Rai of APF and Bimal Rokka of TAC ‘B’ advanced to the 56kg weight category final. In the 64kg semi-final bouts, Deepak Shrestha of TAC ‘A’ and Prakash Limbu of Jhapa emerged as victors, while Sandeep Byanju and Bishnu Prasad Ghale set the all-TAC final in 69kg weight category.

Also, Dipesh Lama of TAC ‘A’ and Madhusudhan Shrestha of Kaski sailed into the 75kg final, while Manohar Basnet of Lalitpur and Gokul Gurung of APF ‘A’ advanced to the 81kg final.

Mahendra KC of TAC ‘A’ and Om Prasad Gurung of Kaski will meet in the 91kg final, while Shyam Khadka of TAC ‘A’ and Dinesh Adhikari of Damak made it to the above-91kg final.
