Maharjan, Nembang shine

Nepal Police Club’s Alina Maharjan and Tribhuvan Army Club’s Swechha Nembang recorded three wins each in the iMPACT Thamel Open Table Tennis Championship that kicked off here today.

In women’s singles Group C matches, Maharjan defeated Lasta Maharjan of Pingpong Superstar, outplayed her NPC teammate Yeshashwi Suwal and Rupa Limbu of Dharan by identical scores of 3-0. TAC’s Nembang also recorded victories against the same three opponents by the same score lines.

In Group A, national champion Nabita Shrestha of NPC recorded a 3-1 victory against Sikka Suwal of APF and beat Rubi Bajracharya of Kathmandu 3-0, while Dikshya Tamang outplayed her TAC teammate Dikshya Dahal 3-2 and Sikka Suwal of APF 3-1.

In Group B, TAC’s Rabina Maharjan beat Anuska Prasai of Yala Spin 3-0 and returned to see off Manju Suwal of NPC 3-2. Similarly, APF’s Selisha Khadgi beat Sonu Thapa Magar of NPC 3-2 and defeated Manu Suwal of NPC 3-1.

In men’s singles Group A, Binesh Khaniya of NPC beat Alex Maharjan of APF, while Bilosh Shrestha of APF defeated Nikesh Maharjan of Yala Spin and Tendi Sherpa of Bajra Union beat Gaurav Shrestha of TAC by identical scores of 3-0.

In Group B, Shiva Sundar Gothe of APF outplayed Bajra Prakash Lama of Bajra 3-1, TAC’s Chandan Shah defeated Arish Maharjan of Yala Spin 3-0 and Rakesh Maharjan of NPC recorded a 3-0 win over Seyon Gurung of Pingpong.

In Group C, Amar Lal Shrestha of APF thrashed Prajjwal KC of Kathmandu, Narayan Ghimire beat his TAC teammate Prajjwal Shrestha and Mahabir Chaudhary of Dharan recorded win over Rajojman Thaku of Bhaktapur in straight sets.
