POKHARA: Makwanpur Cricket Academy and Nepal Cricket School United recorded wins in the Sponsor U-16 Academy Cup on Tuesday.

Makwanpur defeated Machhapuchhre Cricket Academy by 78 runs, while Nepal Cricket School saw off Rock-XI by 93 runs. Opting to bat first, Makwanpur scored 153-7 in their allotted 20 overs before packing Machhapuchhre for 75 runs in 16.2 overs. Surans Gautam’s 41-ball 53 with the help of three boundaries and four sixes helped Makwanpur reach a mammoth total.

Sandesh Bhandari top scored for Machhapuchhre with 17-ball 26 hitting four boundaries and a six. Sakar Gajurel claimed five wickets for Makwanpur.

In day’s another match, Nepal Cricket School scored 180-6 riding on Gautam Rit’s 33-ball 53 that included one boundary and five sixes.

In reply, Rock-XI scored 87 runs in 17 overs as Abhay Kapoor remained unbeaten on 21 runs of 16 hitting three sixes.
