MCA, APF enter final

Milan Cricket Academy and Nepal APF Club advanced to the final of the Kalaiya Cricket League Women’s Twenty20 Tournament here at the Siddheshwor grounds today.

In the last league round matches, Milan thrashed Kalaiya Cricket Club by eight wickets, while APF registered a nine-wicket victory over Rising Cricket for Women. APF and Milan made it to the championship match as the top two teams in the four-team competition.

Unbeaten APF topped the table with six points, while Milan finished second with four. Likewise, RCW earned two points, while hosts Kalaiya Cricket Club lost all three matches and failed to open their accounts.

In the day’s first match, KCC were bowled for a paltry 60 runs in 13.2 overs before Milan achieved the target in 7.2 overs with eight wickets in hand. Opting to bat first, KCC failed to put up the fighting total and only Rewati Dhami (17) and Sita Shrestha (11) were able to score in double figures.

Milan skipper Rubina Chhetri picked up 5-15, while Suman Bista took 3-5 and Kabita Joshi claimed 2-19.

In reply, Kabita Joshi remained unbeaten on 15 and player-of-the-match Rubina Chhetri contributed 13 runs in Milan’s victory. Nary Thapa remained not out on 10 runs. KCC’s Rewati Dhami and Puja Giri claimed one wicket each.

In another match, RCW were bowled for 51 runs in 17 overs before APF raced to 52-1 in 9.5 overs. Sita Rana Magar scored an unbeaten 28 runs, while Jyoti Pandey scored 18 before being run out.

Earlier, RCW batters faltered except for Shenaz Parvin (17) and Anu Chaudhary (15), the two players who scored in double figures. Player-of-the-match Sita Rana Magar picked up 4-4, while Karuna Bhandari claimed 3-13. Similarly, Sonu Khadka and Ritu Kanaujiya took one wicket each for APF.
