MMC, TSC, CYC all register victories

KATHMANDU: League leader Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC), Three Star Club (TSC) and Chyasal Youth Club (CYC) all secured victories today during their Pulsar Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League in Kathmandu.

MMC edged Jawalakhel Youth Club 1-0 to stretch their winning streak to six games in a row to lead the 14-team table with 18 points.

TSC defeated Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) 2-1 to leapfrog Sankata to the second spot on 15 points with a superior goal difference. Similarly, CYS beat Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) 2-1 to secure a second win of the campaign.

MMC's Anjan Bista notched a goal from a penalty spot in the 62nd minute to beat the spirited JYC today.

HSC's Tridev Gurung struck in the 15th minute to give a deserved lead before the break. However, Santosh Saukhala equalised in the 56th minute. Substitute player Sunil Khadka's strike in the 73rd minute was enough to seal three points for CYC.

In another game of the day, SYC took an early lead as their foreign recruit Victor Amobi struck as early in the 3rd minute. After thirteen minutes, TSC Ranjit Dhimal equalised and Nirajan Khadka's strike in the half hour mark sealed the game.

TSC's Mikchhen Tamang, MMC's Anjan Bista and CYC's Santosh Saukhala won the man of the match awards respectively and bagged a cash purse of Rs 10,000 each.

MMC lead the table with 18 points, NRT sit in the bottom with a solitary point.
