Nabil Bank signs agreement with PPL

Kathmandu, October 14

Queens Events Management Pvt Ltd and Nabil Bank today reached an agreement to support the Pokhara Premier League, the Twenty20 cricket tournament.

Nabil Bank CEO Anil Keshary Shah and Queens Events Management Managing Director Chhumbi Lama signed the memorandum of understanding. As per the agreement, Nabil Bank will be the officials bank partner of the Pokhara Premier League slated for October 26 to November 6 at the Pokhara Stadium.

Nabil Bank CEO Shah was happy to be associated with the PPL. “We are thankful to the PPL for giving us the chance to be a part of the premier cricket tournament,” said Shah. “We agreed to the banking partner of PPL as it is different than other tournaments and the team behind the event is good. PPL has teams from various cities of the country and Nabil has branches all over the nation. We can also support the teams of the PPL through our branch offices,” he added.

Queens Events Management MD Lama thanked Nabil for supporting the PPL. “It’s our privilege to have Nabil Bank as one of the partners of the tournament,” said Lama. “We know sports cannot be developed without the support of corporate sector and I urge Nabil Bank and other organisations to step forward to contribute from their end,” he added.

National cricket team skipper Paras Khadka was glad to get the support of Nabil Bank for the PPL. “It’s not easy to organise an event without the financial support from corporate sector. We hope to attract other private organisations into cricket to grow better and bigger in the days to come,” said Khadka. “PPL has revived cricket in Pokhara and we need such tournaments throughout the country,” Khadka added.

A total of six franchise teams are taking part in the tournament. National team skipper Paras Khadka is the marquee player of Chitwan Rhinos, while his national team deputy Gyanendra Malla leads the Kathmandu Royals. Likewise, Sandeep Lamichhane is the marquee player of Biratnagar Titans, while Butwal Blasters have signed Sompal Kami. Dhangadhi Blues have given the responsibility to Dipendra Singh Airee, whereas Sharad Vesawkar is the marquee player of Pokhara Paltan.
