KATHMANDU: Head coach Johan Kalin on Friday announced the 23-member squad for the national team’s friendly match against Malaysian Super League champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club.

The match will be played at the Pasar Gudang Stadium in Johar City, Malaysia on August 26, as the preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Preliminary Competition and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Qualifiers away matches against Kuwait and Chinese Taipei, informed the All Nepal Football Association.

Nepal will face Kuwait on September 5 before playing against Chinese Taipei on September 10. The final squad consists of three goalkeepers, Bikesh Kuthu, Alan Neupane and Bishal Shrestha along with seven defenders — Saroj Dahal, Ajit Bhandari, Dinesh Rajbanshi, Ananta Tamang, Devendra Tamang, Rajeen Dhimal and Suman Aryal.

Likewise, Sunil Bal, Ravi Paswan, Anjan Bista, Sujal Shrestha, Heman Gurung, Bikram Lama, Tej Tamang, Santosh Tamang and Bishal Rai are the midfielders, while Bimal Gharti Magar, Bimal Rana, Abishek Rijal and Nawayug Shrestha are the strikers.
